Train Passes

Hello everyone! Ok I guess it is about time I post some of the volumes of Japan stuff and being the fact that my sight is kind of supposed to be about Japan, I present some pre-paid train cards I got last August when I was in Osaka.

These are real handy to have even if the card doesn't have enough on it to cover the whole trip. At least you will be about to get on your way and go through the fare adjustment line on the other end.

The top card is great - shows a nice summer scene.
The summer fireworks shows are hugely popular here, and the boats are called 'yakatabune'. You get food and beer for 2 hours or so, there's karaoke onboard. Great fun for a party, if you can reserve the whole boat. Not the cheapest night (10,000yen per person or so), but very relaxing.
