August 2003 Archives
It has been a busy/slow night all in one. We went to a pub called The Local, and had dinner with a few on my great friends. Then off to the grocery store we went.
When we got home I printed up some of the pictures I took yesterday and they turned out pretty good. I will post some when I get time....
Today the wife and I made a trip to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. We had a lot of fun in the sun and no sunburn to report! :-) I took some photos with my new 28MM lens I got for my Pentax K-1000 and I am excitted to see the results. I hope it was all for not.
School is going great. I was lucky tonight to be able to get out of the caves (classroon without windows) early and spemd the night watching my favorite show, Junk Yard Mega-wars. I can't wait until this weekend. I hope to be able to get out and take some more photos.
I just got back from my first day back at class. Uggg... I am feeling so tired. Well anyway, here are the last nice pictures that I took at Split Rock Lighthouse.
Here are some more pictures from our trip to Split Rock LightHouse. Unforunately, the battery on my Pentax K-1000 had died so the f-stop was off and the pictures didn't turn out as well as I would have hoped for.
Ugg.... I got back from the sun scorched state of Iowa. Man was it every hot. Saturday was 105F in the shade and it was almost that hot on Sunday for the drive back. Yuko and I held a reception for our wedding that we had in Osaka in January.
I really didn't feel very good today so I called in sick at work. I took a 4 hour nap, but it is so hot here in the 'hood. Time for some gheto juice :-).
Here are some ditigal pictures that we took in the park.

This poor deer was sitting in the shade trying to cool off. The heat was certainly oppressive.

She is on the schedule to get her declaw soon. Some people feel that it is a mean thing to do, but I also think it is mean to lose an eye in the middle of the night as Ivy loves to walk on my face.

I am waiting for the newest arrival to my camera family, a Zenit ET. It will take about 2 weeks to get here from the Urkaine. Ia m really exited to be trying this new set up. I purchased this camera for 2 reasons, mainly. One, it was very inexpensive at $33.00 total with shipping. Secondly, It is just cool.
It would be nice to have the Photo Sniper, which strangely or not, might get me arrested.
We just got back from a work event and sleep is calling..... I know this is short, even for me, but I have to go when I stop typing well.
I went out to Lakewood Cemetery at the end of June. I have finally gotten around to printing them. What do you think? I am just learning with my Pentax K-1000 and Kodak Tri-X 400 film. Sometimes it is hard to judge one's own work. So Please leave some comments and tell me what you think.
On to the Galley of Lakewood Cemetery.
If some pics look a little pixellated, it is because I have to reduce the image size to make them manageable on the web. If you would like to see the original scans, please just let me know.
On Saturday we made a trip to Split Rock Light house. It was a lot of fun! We went with some great friends, Brian and Amy and Kimberly.
Unfortunatly, the little blue car is in the shop and due to a delay in getting the correct parts. The repair shop offered the use of their parts running car until mine is fixed. It's the bomb! Amy, Kim and Yuko rode in the bounce back seat and Brian and I rode in the front and took turns keeping the dash instruments running with some not so gentle love taps.
These photos were taken by Yuko with her Canon IXY Digital 30. (Japanese)
Here is a picture from the Gallery.

This is one of my favorite dishes! We got this yaki soba at United Noodles. It is an instant noodle that you make by boiling water in a fry pan and adding the dried noodles and then when the noodles are soft and the water is gone you fry then with the sauce that is included. Then to finish it off you sprinkle the green leaves (condiments) over the top.
We received this picture from a friend of the Gion Matsuri. I am really missing Japan and wish today was the big move day. Well I know we will make when we are finally ready, but it doesn't help with the feelings of missing something important.
