THe Great North Woods

A little laugh from God's Frozen Land. Oh this can happen in the land of eternal cold.....

The Least Successful Defrosting Device The all-time record here is held by Mr. Peter Rowlands of Lancaster whose lips became frozen to his lock in 1979 while blowing warm air on it. "I got down on my knees to breathe into the lock. Somehow my lips got stuck fast." While he was in the posture, an old lady passed an inquired if he was all right. "Alra? Igmmlptk", he replied at which point she ran away. "I tried to tell her what had happened, but it came out sort of... muffled," explained Mr. Rowlands, a pottery designer. He was trapped for twenty minutes ("I felt a bit foolish") until constant hot breathing brought freedom. He was subsequently nicknamed "Hot Lips". -- Stephen Pile, "The Book of Heroic Failures"

A Slow Saturday

It is Saturday again. I have made it through another busy week with a looming upgrade at work. Today was a slow one here at the house. Yuko and Daichi went out to visit a friend's house and I stayed home and scanned some pictures from the pile that has been sitting here next to the computer as I have had little time to do such things with a new baby in the house.

Time has gone by quickly since Daichi was first born. I was kind of taken aback today at the sight of Daichi's skiny legs. Now they are nice and chunky, great for tickinging him.

This is one of my favorite photos of the bunch that I scanned today. Maybe I can make a 8 x 10 for the wall.

A Busy End of Year 2004

I know it has been awhile since I last posted. I have been swamped at work with the a new application rollout, MS Exchange 2003, which has left me not really wanting to toch a computer after the work shift has ended. Daichi is really growing fast. He can now sit upright pretty much for as long as likes to. He has just started to really babbel and love to listen to Yuko and I talk to him. I wonder how long it will be before he starts to talk?
