New Firewall

| | Comments (1)

It has been pretty quite around here this weekend. I am also "oncall" for my employer, but I have been lucky and there hasn't been any calls as of yet. I guess I got another 30 minutes or so to go, so it could still hit the fan.

In other new, I set up a new firewall, Smoothwall. It is a really cool firewall application that allows me to do some things that I couldn't do before. It runs on very old hardware also. I wish I could find a p75 or something similar, but with the pace of technology, I could olny get a PIII 866Mhz, what a waste of CPU power.

I hope I can find a way to cram the guts out of the tower and into something more reasonable and then I am going to deploy this beast into the depths of the basement along with the other networking equipment.
