This is a picture of Todai-Ji Temple. It was the largest wooden structure for a long time. It was so hot in August last year when I was there.

Nara Deer

We went to Nara to see the Todaiji Temple and we ran across these deer that live right outside of the temple. I have read in a couple of different articles that Japanese believe that these deer are the reincarnation of Gods. I don't know if it is true or not, but this deer are well cared for. In fact they are damn right aggressive when people appear to have food. There were many old men selling a baked pancake looking food for sale along the same path as the deer hurds.

This poor deer was sitting in the shade trying to cool off. The heat was certainly oppressive.

This is a tipical dinner and Yuko has made for me. I love it! It is pork with a soy sauce type suace. Now I know that sounds strange, the last sentence, but it is the best that I can do to describe it. Ayways, it was delicious!!!
