A Lone Orchid

Yuko and I went out to take a look at a house that is for sale. Unfortunatly it wasn't what we had hopped it would be, but is anything in this world, except maybe love? Well we are going to continue the search for a house that we can afford and Yuko will like. The cold is back here in Minnesota and it looks like we will warm up again in the upcoming days. It is a dangerous time of the year for catching a cold. When it warms up here in the lower 30F range it seems time to break out the shorts and have a beach party. Well I am a big believer that they should close up the state in early November and only reopen in May.

In other news, we are down to two days to go until we go and have the ultrasound at the doctor's office. I am really ecited and I know that Yuko is also. We have waited a long time and we want to know! Yuko and I are hoping the baby will be in the mood to let us tell just what kind of baby we are going to have.

This is a orchid that Yuko and I found when we made a trip to the Minnesota Zoo. It was taken with my trusty Zenit ET and Helios 44-4 58MM lens on expired Kodak 200 color film.

More Snow and Ice

We are having snow again and I have to admit that most Minnesotians are "having the gun to their heads" literally. Can we take much more snow? I keep asking myself this question. THe weather in the God's Frozen Tundra takes it's toll on a person, even the heartest of souls. It does look like we are going to get some relief from the cold and dark skies this weekend with the temps going back into the mid 30F range.
In other news, we are shopping for another real estate agent after getting the blow off from one lady. I guess she wants only high rollers and not normal people like myself from working class people. Nothing like the blow off!
This is another picture form the roll that I took with my Holga at the St. Paul Ice Castle. I like the like leaks that are being shown here, do you? THis camera is pretty hit or miss when it comes to focusing and I am surprised that only 3 shots were fuzzy this time. I guess I am getting better at using it.

It seems to be a Monday for me, eventhough it is Tuesday. We are busy getting ready to go house shopping.

Yuko and I made it back some safely. It was a long and tiring trip for me, as I can't speak for Yuko. She was lucky and took a nap for most for the way. Man was I jealous! Well we had to make a trip down to take care of a few things to clear the way for house future house purchase. It was a scary ride down on Saturday as there were probably about 100 cars in the ditches, victims of icy and overall crapy roads. We didn't have too much ice and we were able to make the trip pretty smoothly. It is nice to see the folks, but it is always nice to be back home sorrounded by cameras.

We made it to another weekend and it looks like it will be relaxing and tiring with some driving involved as Yuko and I are driving down to Des Moines. We are going to try to get a house sometime soon, hopefully before the baby is here. We are on a trip to clear up some stuff on my credit report that isn't mine and it requires us to go to the Des Moines Court House. What a hassel! Well we will get a chance to see the folks and my sister and her baby, Jillian. She is so cute! Yuko is telling me that we are going to have a beautiful baby and I am hoping so. Well I know that our baby will be beautiful to me anyways. So I am not worried one bit. Yuko and I are hoping that the weather is going to be nice for the drive. When I talked to my step mom, she said that they had a foot of snow on the ground and it was still coming down. There is not much worse than driving in a snow storm.

Here is another picture of my cute niece, Jillian. She is so cute, but I am thinking that she is going to have a hard time beating our baby, if it turns out to be a girl. Every day is one closer. Yuko and I have an appointment on the morning of the 17th to see the doctor for our first ultrasound and a check up. The doctor told us that there might be a chance that the baby's legs could be in the way not allowing us to see what kind of baby we are going to have. I have an answer for that. I will spin Yuko above my head, WWF style and then we will try again. In other news, the weather is getting nicer. It was almost above freezing today. I hope the snow will be on the way out for our drive down to Des Moines to see the folks and take care of some business.

Well it has been a tough week for me between the nasty snow storm we got and the daily commute to Eagan to the training center. Last week it was the terriable cold and now snow. I am asking myself, "What was I thinking when I moved to this misserable state?" I really should have moved south to a warm clim... I have really latched on the idea of a co-worker of mine, they should close up this state and not let anyone back in until May or so. I think she is onto something here. Well anyways, here is a picture of my niece, Jillian. I took this shot during our Christmass visit to the folk's house. I can't wait until I can meet our own baby. Yuko is getting bigger and I have felt our baby many times. I think we are going to have a kicker.
