A Slow Process

| | Comments (2)

I have been working on recovering my lost entries after a failed attempt at upgrading my MT to the new 3.12 version. it is a long and slow process that has to be done manually, so it is going to be awhile until Japanish is whole again. Here are some new Daichi pics.....

Today was a lazy day.... Went over to a friends house and hung out... Last night though, Yuko and I went out to have dinner with some of our other friends, Lynn and John and Amy and Brian at Sukura, a Japanese resturant. A great time was had by all! I ended up with 2 glasses of Sake, Kariho. I love the stuff and I just might have to pick up a couple of bottles for those hard days at work.. Here is a review

Back from Menards

Is it Friday yet? I wish that it was. Well, Yuko and I spent about 1.5 hours tonight cruising Menards. HEHEHE Get your mind out of the gutter..... Of course I went to only pick up a few things, but it turned out that I got more than I had planned on. I wonder if Menards (out of the gutter, please) has a frequent buyer club.... I finished my first fixing job, the broken switch in our stairway of death. I couldn't have done it with out the help of my dad! Thanks! Here is a picture that one of our friends took of Yuko and I at the baby shower that was held for Yuko. It was beautifully and Yuko was deeply touched.

Back in the Saddle Again

Well I am back again after a long break, sorry. Yuko and I just purchased our new house and we finally moved in and have gotten most things set up, most importantly, the INTERNET! And I have my web server up and purring also. Man are things crazy around here. Yuko and I went to our last monthly doctor's visit and we are switching to the bi-weeking schedule. I am sure not looking forward to getting up early in the morning to head to the doctor's office. Well on the flip side, we are getting closer to the dya that I get to hold Daichi. I am sooooo excitted, and Yuko is too, I know. We are getting ready that is fer sure. Last weekend we went out and got the Travel system that Yuko has had her eye on. I have to say at this point that the box did say any thing about major assembly required.... :-( Well it wasn't too bad. Here is a picture of our new house from about a month ago or so, maybe two months ago.

The Ice Castle

Tonight we made a trip out to see the Ice Castle. Boy was it cold! It was 10F or -12C for you folk out there that are Celcius minded. Tyko and I both froze! Well we had two cups of hot chocolate, but it really did little to warm our bones. I took two rolls of film and hopefully I get some pictures that turn out. I will be upset if they don't, but that will be directed at the man behind the curtain, so to speak. If the pictures don't turn out at least we will have the pictures that Yuko took tonight with her digital camera.

Santa Came Early!

Santa came early for me. I got a almost new Beseler 23C II darkroom enlarger. It was a long shoot to say the least. I saw an ad for it and I offered 250.00 dollars for it and the guy agreed on the price and I picked it up on Friday. What I didn't know before I bought it, was that is is almost new. It was sitting in the guy's closet for a couple of years.

The beseler didn't have a base, so I did so searching on the 'net and the wife and I headed out to homedepot to get so'pllys and I built the base in an hour. Amazingly enough, it is 99% square. Good enough for government work. :-)

Not much excitting happened today. I have stepped up to the plate and today was the cleaning day.... Yuko was pretty sick again today so I spent the day whirling around the apartment cleaning.....

Here are some more pictures that Yuko took on our fall walk in the 'Hood.

Well it is Halloween here and it is creepy here in the 'hood. Yuko is still really sick with the morning sickness. I guess I shouldn't call it that because she is sick 24/7 and not just in the morning. I wonder when it will just be in the morning.

I will post a couple more pictures from this run then I will be adding a gallery for the walk we took. If you would like to get on the notification list, please let me know.

Changing Colors

I am back again after a long week. I am sorry that I can't always get around to posting here. Well tonight I present another in a string of wonderful photos that my wife took when we took a fall walk around the 'hood. She really does a great job with her Canon.

On the other news front, we survived the Shania Twain concert here in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have to say acouple of things about the concert: First, the music was too lound and thusly left me wishing I could here the notes. It really sounded like mush. Second, I left wondering if she was lip syncing, as the songs were so much like the ones on the CD. Thrid, Shania was dressed funky....

Things I like about the concert: I thought it was great that Shania made the show a family affair. Second, the light show was pretty good.

The End Is Near

Well I am back again. Today has been a fun day for Yuko and I. First of all it started off right with Yuko not getting sick! We are hopping that she is over the worst of the morning sickness. I know that it is too early to tell but I am hopping that it is so.

We went this afternoon to a wedding reception for our friends, Asuko and Jason. We had a great time and had great food from Cossetta's. I would really recomend this resturant to anyone that like Italian, but be careful of what dishes you choose as some of them tend to be a little on the greasey side. Well anyway, I hope they get some nice things for their new life here in the US.

These photos were taken by my lovely wife, Yuko and her Cannon digital camera. We sure have gotten a lot of use out of the little bugger and the best part of it is that we got it for free. Her father won it in a bingo game and he gave it to her.

It sure was cold today. I am thinking that it is going to be a really nasty Halloween here. I beleive in 1992 we had a really bad blizzard on Halloween that left about 3' of snow on the ground. Let's hope that we won't have this kind of Halloween this year. I don't think that I can talk Yuko into going to any of the scary huanted houses this year as she is pregnant and probably not next year either, but there is always hope.

What I mean by the end is near is that we are quickly rolling from fall into winter.
